One Giant Leap for CONSCIOUSNESS

At Brain Browser, breakthroughs in neurotransmitter research are being unraveled daily, our hope is to learn as much as we can ethically, and place a roadmap for fellow scientists to follow along

...in 3d

To help assist the scientists visualize their efforts, we developed a 3d model of the human brain -- explore below!

This interactive brain model was developed by Pepe and Nathan

Our Plan...

We are the first scientists in the world to use the latest AI techniques to train models that infer neurotransmitter concentrations from electrical data

Learn

Brain Browser is an app that allows scientists to design experiments and analyze data consistently, compressing our learning curve

Sreamline

We have a proprietary data-pipeline feature that guides data-scientists onto a simple "cradle to grave" accountability track for sensitive brain data

Share

The Brain Browser dashboard allows users of all backgrounds to slice and dice the neuro data for optimized result sharing

Expedite

We are built on a foundation of machine learning, enabling us to quickly analyze and publish new findings

...becoming Science Fact

Despite seeming entirely like science fiction, the results are statistically sound, and consistent with other scientific observations. It's crazy!

About Fralin

Fralin Institue

The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, located in Roanoke, Virginia, is a hub for cutting-edge research in various health and biotechnology fields, including the first-of-a-kind neurotransmitter inference lab. They are pioneering this effort and expanding their research network accross the globe

Leading the way

Three main mad-scientists have pioneered the novel idea of inferring neurotransmitter data from probe data. Dr. Read Montague (center) and Dr. Seth Batten (left) from Virginia Tech University in Roanoke, and Dr. Dan Bang (right) from Aarhus University in Denmark. They're collaborating via a network thing called the internet.

How it's done...

  1. Identify a patient before undergoing DBS surgery. This is usually someone seeking relief from symptoms of parkinsons, epilepsy, or central tremors.
  2. With a probe fully inserted in the brain, the subject will perform a unique task while scientists record the electrical signals across the probe. This task will be uniquely designed to light up a specific region of the brain.
  3. In a controlled environment, the same probe is used to measure the electrical response in known samples of serotonin, epinephrine, and other neurotransmitters

...How it's done

  1. The data collected in the controlled environment are then fed into an AI model to help describe the mathematcal relationships between electricity and neurotransmitters
  2. We can now combine the electrical results during the unique task with the well-trained AI model to make novel inferences to how our neurotransmitters react
  3. Imagine seeing a real-time dopamine signal rise and fall during Pavlov's famous bell-ring experiment... are you getting as excited as we are?

All inside of Brain Browser

Brain Browser is the software suite designed to streamline used to protect, consolidate,

Faq

Is this safe?
Yes! DBS (Deep Brain Stimulant) surgery is quite common and is a standard procedure for those suffering with central tremors, Parkinson's disorder, or untreatable MDD (Major Depression Disorder)
What are neurotransmitters?
Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that play a fundamental role in communication between nerve cells. Analyzing neurotransmitter data helps researchers and medical professionals understand how these chemicals function and contribute to overall brain function.
What do we hope to learn?
Many mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia, are associated with imbalances in neurotransmitters. Studying neurotransmitter data can provide insights into the underlying mechanisms of these disorders, leading to improved diagnosis and treatment.
How can I become involved?
This is exciting stuff, and we don't blame you for wanting to become involved.  Send us a message and we'll connect.  If you're a fellow scientist, we have a great roadmap ahead of us.
What's next in brainbrowser?
We recognize the potential impact this can have in many different facets of life. And so, we are dong our best to lay a firm ethical foundation upon which we can expand this industry.  Our focuses are mainly on ensuring this foundation is solid. If you're interested, follow us for more info
